We all naturally have different color lips. Why is that so? Your lips are indicators of your health status so the color of your lips actually gives you an indication of what happens inside of your body.
That means that you will know what to do and what to eat to help correct that problem. So what are your lips telling you about your health?
For instance, dry chapped lips are usually indication of dehydration and they can also be an indication of allergies. Some studies also say that they are also connected to diabetes.
But what about your natural lips color? The natural color of your lips can change every now and then and it is mostly because of your health status in that point of time. The most common colors of your lips are:
The color can vary from white to grey. This color is common for people in hospital beds. Their lips are dry and pale because they are weak and fragile. This usually means that you are anemic and your body needs more blood. In those cases, you should consume foods like: broccoli, red meats and red dates. Another indication that goes with pale lips is when you have cold hands and feet even when it is not in winter. This links to your digestive system and your stomach might be too cold. So you need to warm up your stomach with consuming: ham, mussel, pumpkin, squash, mango, cherries, nectarines, pineapple, lychee.
This color is pretty common during cold winter days, but if the problem is constant then you might have a real problem. This is an indicator that you have problems with your heart and/or your respiratory system. In such cases you will definitely need some professional advice.
Purple-black lip outline
This is an indication of imbalance of yin and yang in your body. So you might be put up fire and cold at the same time. Even though this sounds weird it can happen. In those cases, you should rest and eat well. To avoid this to happen, avoid yin food (like eggs, crab, duck, lettuce, mushrooms, oranges, bananas, green tea, and spicy processed foods) during your periods.
Super red lips
This links with bad breath and cravings for snacking. This usually means that your body is overheated and your liver and spleen are overworking. In this case you should drink some chrysanthemum tea and opt for vegetables like bitter Mellon and celery. Honey is also good for balancing the inside, but remember that the most important thing is to go to bed at 11 pm at maximum and not to stress.
Dark red ( almost black ) lips
This color is linked to the digestive system. Do not eat too much processed food. If you have this lip color try to eat some congee, tofu or sweet potato instead. Lemon water will also clean your stomach form toxins.
